Enough about losing weight to get healthier. Although health becomes a major concern when you’re obese,most people want to lose weight so that they become “normal”in their own mind. Apart from others passing insensitive comments on overweight people the biggest critique is yours truly.
Being obese can have a huge impact on your self-esteem and reduce your confidence level. We may not realize it but we are always conscious about what others think of us or that someone might say something negative which leads to us staying home most of the time.
Overweight people sometimes lead lonely lives where they do not spend time with family or friends which can cause them to find solace in food. Losing weight not only has health benefits it can improve your confidence in social life as well.
When we are confident,we communicate better with others be it in the workplace or a social gathering. We can concentrate better on the topic at hand as our attention is no more focused on our body. Although most of us know that we are imperfect and are conscious about our bodies,overweight people tend to be more concerned than normal.
Physically we will be able to take part in more activities like being part of a club or class or just going out with friends. When we are happy with our lives it will show in our confidence and attract more people towards us.
It is therefore worth giving weight loss a try as a way of getting rid of those social blues.
