I believe that for you to be willing to make a change, you have to be ready. We will take action only when something clicks in our subconscious. Sometimes I wonder how the trigger really works.
My last overweight period lasted for 5 years. During that time I knew I wanted to lose weight and I knew what had to be done as well. I made a few half-hearted attempts that never lasted more than 2 weeks.
Something always happened that gave me an excuse not to carry on. Then when I came back from UK and made the decision to change my life around,I realised that something was different.
I told my close friends and family that I was starting my exercise and diet to lose weight and this time I was going all the way. I didn’t have a rush, just a quiet conviction.
I only started with a 5-minute session on my stationery bicycle (spin bike) and along the way added my diet to it. Of course there were lapses, times where I let go of everything, like last years Deepavali, but I knew inside I would get back on track and I did.
I felt in control and I guess it was because I finally realised and believed totally that there is no easy way out when it comes to weight loss. Time was catching up and I didn’t want to waste anymore of it with stuff that didn’t work.
Weight loss is serious life-changing business,so ask yourself if you’re really ready for the change.
