It is the day after I started Jillian’s 30-day Shred.  I’m practically limping due to muscle soreness.  It really hurts when I have to stand from a sitting position or sit after being on my feet for a time.

People who are seeing me like this either think I’ve injured myself or I’m overdoing the exercise.  Both perceptions are not true.  It is normal to suffer this kind of soreness after working out muscles that have been sleeping all this while or haven’t been through this level of exertion.

I know this pain will probably last a minimum of three days to a week and everytime I increase intensity there are going to be sore days.  I will not attempt the next session until my soreness has decreased somewhat.

Until then it will be low impact cardio workouts.  That’s all I can do right now because even lifting my knee is a pain-filled effort.

Since I have targeted to lose more body fat and increase muscle tone,I have to engage in serious strength training workouts.  In my life I’ve never had a toned body. During schooling days my friends were always tougher than me and faired better in sports.

This is my chance to change all that.  I’ve displayed Jillian Michaels’picture as my target and can’t retract now.  I don’t know how long it’s going to take me to look like that,but I know it means business.

I hope by April next year I’ll have some concrete results to share with you.
