The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 Episode 7 Recap…

The week started off with Leo expressing unhappiness over loyalty issues within the blue team and ended with the blue boys displaying their ever-so-tight alliance against ex-red team member and only girl in the group,Manjit.  Most of the time if one thing is shown its the opposite that you should expect. That’s reality TV’s style of adding twists to the plot.  It might have seemed funny that Manjit claimed Shakira had lacked motivation when she herself has always had issues with training but when Jon gave the same reason for voting her out, maybe there was some truth to it.  But Raj’s reason was unmistakable;self-preservation.  We got to give one thing to Raj,no matter what he says to the rest in the house,he always tells us,the truth.

Blue team was smoking hot during the Batu Caves relay challenge.  They really do seem to be the stronger team, when it comes to challenges.  Each of their member out-performed their counterpart from the red team.  The reward,I felt, was unfair.  Apart from getting to choose who sat out the weigh-in in the red team and a Skype call home, they had to choose only one team member amongst them who could enjoy a multi-year membership at Fitness First.  Since everybody worked equally hard, the reward should have been equal too.  Fortune favoured Raj as the team gave up the membership award to Raj on account of the day being his birthday.

There was also the cooking challenge and where the winning team got to train their trainer.  Red team won, thanks to Nai who prepared a delicous meal while the blue team’s meal despite looking gorgeous, was apparently inedible.  Again it was only Nai who was brave enough to work Kristy out, risking what she might do to him when the roles reversed back, but the rest as Saw put it “wanted to be alive”when they got out of the show and hardly went near her.  Fear rules people!

Last chance workout had more Fitness Fix methods like kettle bells and the type of exercises that we wouldn’t normally call exercise.  But in the end the weigh-in was won by the red team.  To be honest the weigh-ins are starting to get pretty boring with there being no suspense factor whatsoever.  It was obvious that as the last person to weigh-in,Raj wasn’t going to pull anything more than a 4 and even when both teams tallied at 10 kilos each, the red team would score a higher percentage because they have always weighed less as a team.

The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 Episode 7 Weigh-In Results:-

It was what happened after the weigh-in that proved more interesting.  It was almost as though there was a communication breakdown in the blue team after Genghis’s outright attempt to talk Manjit and Leo into voting Raj out.  It was confusion(for the viewers at least) at the elimination room as Raj and Jon voted for Manjit accusing her of betrayal and Manjit who stated that she had been a true blue from the time she joined the team, voted for Jon based on performance.  Leo threw in the deciding vote that sealed Manjit’s elimination.  Again Manjit displayed the class and grace that we’ve been seeing throughout the show as she said her goodbye and took her exit.  It puzzles me that the blue team decided to vote out one of their weaker members when they are on the threshold of going into singles where the rule of the game is to bring down the strongest!
