The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2:Episode 11

The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 Episode 11 Recap…

Just one more episode separates us from the finals that will reveal the winner of The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2.  Among the players still left in the game,Nai seems to be a pretty good contender for the title.  He is consistent and has shown a fierce competitive quality.  I was expecting him to lose more than 3kgs this week after last week’s gain but even that 3kgs gave him a huge lead for the week.

There were more sparks between Lori and Genghis as time and again he has had to vote out an ex-blue team member and keep Lori in the game.  If Raj were to fall below the yellow line this coming week,Genghis will surely be ensuring Lori’s path into the finals.  Though Lori’s attitude can come across as slightly overbearing at times,it is this attitude that is keeping her afloat despite the fact that she does not have an alliance in the house while the other members do.  Her only strong point that is seeing her through is being a former red team member that has been holding the majority.  That being said, during the last season, there were no vote-outs in the last episode leading to the finals.  Instead the elimination came in the form of a qualifying challenge and it could be the same this season too.  So Raj might still have the chance to represent the former blue team.

What really surprised me was Genghis’s weight loss this week even after he swallowed that big bowl of ice-cream in the temptation challenge to get a 15-second advantage in the triathlon challenge.  He managed to pull an impressive 2.48% despite the extra calories.  I suspect that Genghis has a really healthy metabolism as he has been surprising his team members and trainer Kristy with big numbers for some time now.  The 15 second advantage turned out to be nothing though as Nai raced past him together with some of the other contestants.  Of course Nai won the challenge and immunity for the third time in a row not to mention a RM3000 shopping voucher at MK Homes.  At this rate he will definitely be qualifying for the finals.

The highlight of the episode was the training session with Stephen Fox,vice-president of the World Muai Thai federation.  Stephen and his assistance, who also made an appearance in the first season of the Biggest Loser Asia, really worked the contestants especially Genghis who got beat up left, right and centre much to Kristy’s delight.  Later on the contestants were also put through Operation Shape-Up Workout that measures each of their fitness level and how far they have come.  It must really be inspiring to know for a fact that all the hard work you’ve put in has resulted in improved fitness levels.  It definitely gives a sense of personal accomplishment and the drive to work harder.

The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 Episode 11 Weigh-In Results

Leo who topped the charts last week, largely due to his 3kg advantage won in a temptation challenge, was knocked down to last place this week and hence pushed below the yellow line together with Lori.  Genghis is having the biggest total weight loss percentage at 27.16% and it will not be a surprise if he emerges as the dark horse and snatches the title from favourite Nai.  Genghis has pulled off massive figures in the past and he still has a lot more weight to lose compared to the others, therefore a better chance at a higher total weight loss percentage.  In fact the top three for this week,Nai,Genghis and Raj are all in the 27% range and very close to each other.

It was unfortunate to see Leo leave this week.  He was definitely a strong competitor and left ex-team member Raj in tears.  Spending his last week alone with only former red team members must be an unhappy scenario for Raj especially when he knows that he is not a general favourite due to his admittedly open game-playing right from the start.  Although there was fierce competition between David and Carlo in the first season,  season 2 seems to be much more throat cutting and less predictable as more contestants are in the running for the title.
