I would like to start my first post with this topic as I’m sure many of us feel that we have a tendency towards weight gain when compared to others.
According to studies genes have been found to influence (not determine) weight gain in several ways. We all know an overweight person who belongs to a family of overweight people or a person who eats twice more but never puts on a pound.
My personal experience was during the first 3 years after marriage. While we ate the same food and did the same physical activities,I gained 15kgs while my husband gained absolutely nothing!
Eventually, with enough knowledge and consistency,I managed to lose all that weight. Unless you’re medically diagnosed with a severe condition,I believe weight loss is possible for anyone willing to make a change.
Think about how the right kind of fuel and regular servicing ensures a smooth running car and neglect only results in avoidable repairs. Same goes for our bodies.
Being overweight means something is not going right inside. This malfunction can cause binge eating and sluggishness, two things which are commonly mistaken for loving food too much and laziness.
Making the necessary changes will ultimately convert the way our body cells process energy/calories so that fat is burned instead of stored.
So how badly do you want to become a fat-burning machine?
