I cannot remember the number of times I’ve heard people saying that they wanted to reduce fat in just their arms alone or buttocks alone or some other isolated part of their body.  They hate those parts of their bodies that seem to be a magnet for fat accumulation.

The truth is our body deposits fat according to our genetic predisposition.  We have no control over where the body decides it’s going to store the next batch of fat cells.

Similarly there is no way of reducing fat in specific parts of the body unless through surgically invasive methods such liposuction etc,which I do not recommend for several reasons.

When we lose fat,it will be taken from various parts of the body.  Most times our problem areas will be the last to lose its fat storage.  Take me for example. My problem areas is my belly which seems to be taking forever in letting go of the fat.

No amount of crunches or sit-ups will help rid my belly of the extra fat.  My exercises include strength training for the abdominals which has increased the muscle tone in this area.  Unfortunately the abdominal muscles are still surrounded by a layer of fat which will be reduced as I continue losing fat overall.

What I need to do is carry on with my weight loss plan which includes proper diet,cardio and strength exercises.  As I continue to lose weight,the body will eventually start using up the fat from my tummy area.

So do not despair,there is hope yet for those bountiful bulges.  Whatever part your problem area might be,it will be conquered as you carry on losing weight.  The secret is to stay the course and you will achieve your targets!
